With my super hectic work schedule, my blogging duties that I mostly try to catch up during the night time, and raising a super energetic toddler, I am left with no energy to sweep and mop my house…This may seem like a simple chore to do, but for a person like me who is always on a go trying to catch up on all the fronts, with no energy left at the end, this simple task also seems like a struggle. During the weekends, when I am off from work, I have so many other household chores to take care of that have to put cleaning in the last of my to-do list, and the really is it suffering again. To help me with it, I had been thinking of investing in a robotic vacuum cleaner that coHeld not only sweep my floor, but also would mop it up…Sounds so relaxing!
But, as you all must be aware that robotic vacuums cost a fortune. So, to invest my hard earned money intelligently, I started doing some research on the different robotic vacuums available in the market. After researching thoroughly on few good ones available on amazon, I decided to settle for Liectroux Robot Vacuum Cleaner, based on the features it offers.
Made of high quality plastic, this robotic vacuum is circular with the rough dimension of 3 inches (Height) x 12 inches (Diameter). The vacuum cleaner is appealing to look at, and the construction of the body appears very solid so far. I have been using it for over a week now, and it has been bumping around things a lot, but, so far, I have not seen even a little scratch on it, which is indicative of its solid construction. On the top of the unit there is a LCD Monitor that serves as a sort of control panel. The LCD monitor helps you to set the vacuum as per your need, giving you visual feedback about the settings. Down below on the display you can find three function keys UV, Auto, Spot, that can be set accordingly based on what tasks you are wanting to achieve.
As this robotic cleaner comes across things, and sometimes may even bump into objects during routine cleaning, so to reduce the impact of the bump there is a half moon shaped light touch bumper on the front portion that also serves as a sort of object sensor. This sensor, as I have seen, is not very sensitive at all times, hence does not necessarily prevent the vacuum from bumping into objects, therefore it has been taken care of to reduce the impact of the bump as much as possible.
Like all robotic vacuum models this also moves around using two drive wheels, and you can adjust the speed of its movement in all the modes: Rate 1 means high speed, and Rate 2 means low speed. There is a motor to generate suction and to rotate brushes to sweep/push debris towards the suction to achieve effective cleaning, just like in any other normal vacuum cleaner. The back of the device is equipped with the collection container, which are easy to take out and put on.
There are 3 modes available that this robotic cleaner can function on. In all the modes, you have the flexibility to set the speed. In addition, the UV lamp can be used in any mode that will superficially kill the germs thereby Sterilizing the floor.
Modes:
-AUTOMATIC CLEANING MODE or ZIG ZAG CLEANING MODE: It switches between Spot Cleaning Mode, SPIRAL Cleaning Mode and Edge Cleaning mode.
In automatic mode, the vacuum cleaner function as long as its battery works, and when it dies then it moves back to its charging station.
-SPOT CLEANING MODE: Spot Cleaning Mode where it will move in spiral outwards direction to rapidly clean the area until clean. There is a dust sensor built-in the vacuum intake passage way to determine if the area is dirty. In this mode the robot will vacuum around extent of the 1.5meter .
-EDGE CLEANING MODE: In this mode the vacuum moves along the perimeter of the room thereby cleaning the edge of the walls thoroughly.
-SPIRAL CLEANING MODE: In this mode the vacuum moves in spiral motion, but unlike the spot on mode where it moves outward in spiral motion, it moves in inward direction. Once it finish one spiral motion, it moves to another spot and so on.
I love how simple and easy it is to use and configure. The most intriguing part is that its totally automatic. You do not need to be around to supervise while its doing the job. It can totally work on its own based on how you configure it. I set it up to do the cleaning at the time when I am not at home, and I come back to sparkling clean home when back from work. In case it runs down of battery, it search for the docking station for charging automatically…wow!
The cleaning brush is pretty effective and effectively pushes whatever debris comes in contact with the cleaner inside. There is also a mop pad located just behind which can be used to mop the room. At times, long hairs tend to get tangled in the brush motor. So try to check for it every now and then and clean it right away if you find any.
Things to keep in mind when using Liectroux Robot Vacuum Cleaner:
* Be sure to clean up the area of any small objects, mats or toys lying around that the vacuum can bump into. This will help to reach the vacuum to its full potential.
* The vacuum is not capable of working on stairs. It can neither climb up nor come down the stairs.
* It will not work in total darkness as its sensors won’t function properly.
